Cooling Centers Available In Stamford During Heat Wave
High temperatures are expected to impact the region over the next few days.
STAMFORD, CT — With high temperatures expected over the next few days, there are several cooling centers available in Stamford for residents looking to beat the heat.
The cooling centers are as follows:
- Lobby of the Stamford Government Center (888 Washington Blvd.) between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
- Domus (87 Lockwood Ave.) on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- New Covenant Center (174 Richmond Hill Ave.) on Monday through Saturday between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Police Activities League (245 Selleck St.) on Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Building One Community (417 Shippan Ave., 1st Floor) on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Public access sites like the Ferguson Library branches
The City of Stamford advises residents to use caution when going outdoors. Residents can call 211 for a list of cooling centers throughout Connecticut.
