Ex-Stamford HS Principal Appeals Termination
Another twist in the Stamford High School sex scandal — Donna Valentine has filed a lawsuit seeking to reverse her firing.

STAMFORD, CT - Former Stamford High School principal Donna Valentine has filed a lawsuit appealing her termination in January for failing to report a teacher’s sexual relationship with a student.
In papers filed in court Tuesday, Valentine’s lawyers claim her termination by the Board of Education “is tainted by state and federal constitutional errors and violations,” according to The Advocate.
On Jan. 25, the board fired Valentine for failure to report to state authorities information that a now former teacher was having an affair with a student. Valentine and former assistant principal Roth Nordin are now serving a special form of probation following their arrest for failing to report the incident.

Valentine’s termination was recommended by former School Superintendent Winifred Hamilton who retired in December in the wake of the incident.
Former teacher Danielle Watkins is serving a five-year prison sentence following her guilty plea to sexual assault and sale of marijuana charges in February 2015 in connection with the liaison she had with the student.
