Home Heavily Damaged By Fire And Smoke: Stamford FD
The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

STAMFORD, CT — A Westover home was "heavily damaged" Thursday morning after a fire broke out, the Stamford Fire Department announced.
Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the 160 block of Skyview Drive at 8:53 a.m., the SFD said in a news release.
Arriving units found heavy fire venting from the front door of a single-family home, the SFD said.

Firefighters immediately began extinguishing the main body of fire on the first floor, while others worked to knock down flames that had extended up the interior stairs to the second floor, according to the SFD. Additional firefighters ventilated the roof to release smoke and heat from the attic.
All occupants of the home safely evacuated prior to the fire department's arrival, the SFD noted. No injuries were reported, although the occupants had to be relocated due to the damage.

The fire was placed under control at 9:34 a.m., with firefighters remaining at the scene for an additional hour performing overhaul of remaining hot spots.
