In Memoriam: Dolores E. Betsos

Dolores E. Betsos, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away on February 2, 2016 at Greenwich Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 85.

Born in Brooklyn NY on June 22, 1930 to the late John and Eleanor (Reilly) Shanahan.

Dolores was preceded by her beloved husband of 42 years, Peter J Betsos in 2004.

She is survived by her daughters; Erin Vitiello and her husband Carmine; Christine Sadler both from Stamford; her grandchildren, Ryan Vitiello, Anthony Vitiello, JJ Vitiello, Kayla Beerwa, Melissa Beerwa, her great-grandchildren, Isabella Beewra, Christian Beerwa, as well as several nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She worked for Genovese Drug Store for over 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life and she devoted herself to them.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, February 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, February 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union on Erskine Road.
