In Memoriam: Filomena C. Romano

The Stamford resident passed away much 6 at the age of 74.

Filomena Conte Romano, 74, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on Sunday, March 6 surrounded by her loving family.

Filomena was born in Minturno, Italy on September 19, 1941 to the late Antonio Conte and Teresa Orgera.

Filomena found joy in giving. She especially loved to cook and feed family and friends, everyone was welcome at the table. She loved to garden too.

Filomena was a proud homemaker.

She was survived by her loving husband Francesco Romano; four children Nicholas, Pia Conte, Antonio and wife Sondra, Teresa Franchina and husband Philip, and grandchildren Christina, Anthony and Lauren, Tommaso, Brooke, Rachele, Charles, Rachel, Francesco. She also is survived by three sisters, Lina Aversa , Silvana Orsaia , Maria Alicandro of Minturno, Italy and Sal Conte and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Filomena was a true family woman and will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, on Wednesday, March 9, from 9 to 10:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
