Frances Vetti, 89, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Frances was born in New Britain, CT on March 15, 1926 to the late Peter and Mary Baron Tucker.
Frances was a lifetime member of the Italian Center of Stamford and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer, playing at both Sterling Farms and Hubbard Heights Golf Courses. She also bowled at Bowl-A-Rama Lanes in Stamford. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was full of life and enjoyed every minute of hers.
Frances is survived by her husband, of 70 years, Manuel W. Vetti Sr.; sons, Manuel W. Vetti Jr. his wife Bonnie, Bruce Vetti Sr. his wife Debbie, and daughter-in-law Laura Vetti, all of Stamford; her grandchildren Tamara Vetti; Manuel W. Vetti III, Bruce Vetti Jr. his wife Lisa; Anthony Vetti his wife Jenna, Michael Vetti and Kevin Vetti, Jacquelyn Spezzano her husband Michael, great-grandchildren; Daniel, Bennett, Peter, Aiden, Brooke, Lily and Rebecca.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by a son, Wayne Vetti and a great-grandson Anthony Vetti Jr.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Tuesday March 1, at 9:15 AM and proceed to St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 29, from 3 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frances name to a charity of one’s choice.
