In Memoriam: Gladys C. Studwell

Gladys Carr (Snookie) Studwell, died February 16, 2016 at St. Camillus Center. She was 85.

Born December 16, 1930 in Stamford to the late Leon Carr and Kathryn Burns Carr.

Gladys graduated from Sacred Heart Academy of Stamford class of 1948 and worked at Sonitrol/Westec for 27 years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Rosary Society and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was an avid fan of the New York Mets, UCONN basketball and Notre Dame football.

She is survived by one sister, Leatrice Carr Allen of Hamden; and five children: Chris Studwell of Melbourne Beach, FL; Kathryn Studwell of San Francisco, CA; Joan Pendleton of Clifton, VA; Carol Lea DiPietro of Stamford; Douglas Studwell of Colchester, CT; and 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Donald and her son Gregory.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 20 at St. Mary Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
