In Memoriam: Josephine 'Dolly' Dastoli

The Stamford resident passed away Feb. 20 at the age of 88.

Josephine ‘Dolly’ Dastoli, 88, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Brighton Gardens.

She was born in Stamford on September 30, 1927 to the late Joseph and Teresa DiPietro Truglia.

Josephine was the Office Manager for her family’s business, Dasco Rod, Co. in Stamford for twenty years before retiring. She also loved to cook for her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph Dastoli and his wife Marianne of South Carolina, Michael Dastoli and his wife Carol of Orlando, FL, two sisters, Claudia Toscano and Rose Santarella, two brothers, Tony Truglia and his wife Delia and Joseph Truglia, all of Stamford, as well as her grandchildren, Krista Dastoli Spencer, Michael, James and Robert Dastoli and one great-grandson, Vinny Spencer.

Besides her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband Michael N. Dastoli.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford on Thursday, February 25, at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Rd., Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 24, from 4 to 8 P.M.
