In Memoriam: Patricia R. McQuillan
The former Stamford resident passed away Feb. 19 at the age of 80.

From Lacerenza Funeral Home.
Patricia R. McQuillan, 80, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2016, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was surrounded by her family and went home with true grace and dignity.
Mrs. McQuillan was born in Stamford on Sept. 24, 1935, daughter of the late Timothy and Anna Moffett Ryan.
She was born and lived in Stamford before moving to Derby 15 years ago. Patricia was employed as a city bus driver for CT Transit in Stamford for many years and loved all her co-workers and regulars on her route.
She was a devoted mother who gave her strength, heart and soul into raising four children on her own, at times working three jobs to support them.
She enjoyed playing her guitar and singing when she was younger. Her time spent with her best friends Suzanne Abrams (Zaro) and Sandy Frangione (Brookins) helped her through many struggles in life and she was forever grateful. Following her retirement she worked part-time as a shuttle bus driver at SCSU.
She is survived by sons, Mark McQuillan of Florida and Edward McQuillan (Toni) of Norwalk; a daughter, Diane Heche (Adam) of Milford, a brother, Michael “Buster” Ryan of Stamford, a sister, Mary Misencik of Stamford, cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Curriere, Allison McQuillan, Michael McQuillan, David “DJ” McQuillan Jr., Ryan McQuillan, Mallory McQuillan, Johnathon Yaggi, James McQuillan and Kevin McQuillan, great grandson, Cameron Sweeney and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, David McQuillan Sr. and by four brothers John, Timothy, William and Edward, as well as two sisters Anna Adams and Ellen Kennedy.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Griffin Hospital Hospice facility for their comfort and amazing job they did in helping us through the most difficult day of our lives. Also, we would like to thank Robert Ricciuti at Spinelli-Ricciuti funeral home for taking such loving care of mom in her preparation for the Stamford Services.
Flowers may be sent to Lacerenza Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Calling hours and prayer service will be held Saturday February 27, at Lacerenza Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
