Obituary: Toni Smith, 78, Lifelong Stamford Resident

Toni Rosemary Smith, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Toni was born on January 14, 1946, in Stamford, and was one of six children born to the late Stephen and Fay (Palo) Vento.

Toni enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a strong love for God and the Catholic faith.

Toni is survived by her son Barry Smith (Gina) of Redding, CT, daughter Deirdre Fedele (Danny) of Shelton, CT; grandchildren Andrew, Victoria and Joseph; sisters Shiela Vento of Fairfield, CT and Dolores Riordan of Stamford, CT; brothers Jeff Vento of Canterbury, CT and Steve “Butch” Vento of Foster, RI; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Peter Vento.

Funeral services for Toni were held privately according to Toni’s wishes.

Toni’s Daughter would like to thank all the Wonderful & Caring staff at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation in Fairfield, CT for taking such great care of her Mom over the past few years.
