Person Rescued From Boat After Suffering Medical Emergency: Stamford Fire Department
Firefighters in the marine unit responded to a 90-foot vessel on the morning of Oct. 25.
STAMFORD, CT — A person was rescued from a fishing charter boat over the weekend after suffering a medical emergency, according to the Stamford Fire Department.
At approximately 9:44 a.m., the SFD Marine Unit responded to a 90-foot "party fishing charter boat" located outside Stamford Harbor, the SFD said in a news release.
Responding units located the vessel and made contact with the crew.

"Firefighters immediately rendered medical assistance to the individual while transferring the patient safely aboard the fire boat," the SFD said.
The patient received continued medical care from fire department personnel as the fire boat went back to shore, where Stamford EMS crews were standing by to assume care and transport the individual to a local hospital for further treatment, the SFD noted.

"The rapid response and coordination between the Stamford Fire Department Marine Unit, dispatch, and EMS ensured prompt and effective aid was delivered under challenging maritime conditions," the SFD said.
It was not clear Monday what the status of the patient was.
