Dr. Richard Sterling Banfield Jr., 101, died April 25, 2025; a pioneering obstetrician and gynecologist, he opened a private practice in Stamford and later retired in 1992 after serving as Chief of Obstetrics at Stamford Hospital, and in his later years, he enjoyed golf, racquetball, bridge, travel, acting, and supporting UConn women’s basketball and the New York Mets.
Thomas Pensiero, 87, died on April 23, 2025; a WWII survivor and longtime Clairol supervisor and mechanical engineer, he enjoyed gardening, making wine, and being a member of the Minturnese Social club, and is survived by three children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a nephew.

Charles “Chip” Robert Stahl, 67, died on April 21, 2025; a retired Animal Control Officer and owner of Animal Wildlife Solutions, he enjoyed coaching and refereeing hockey, outdoor activities like camping and fishing, building model rockets, and traveling to Scotland, and is survived by his wife, three children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister.
Antonio “Tony” Socci, 91, died on April 18, 2025; a longtime Pitney Bowes employee known for his dedication, he found fulfillment in landscaping and gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Serafino “Sam” Gentile, 96, died on April 17, 2025; a longtime construction worker with Frank Mercede & Sons, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, making wine and pasta, watching boxing, and building projects for his family, and is survived by his wife, four children, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several siblings.
Paul A. Pitman, 82, died on April 17, 2025; a master carpenter for 50 years and a talented painter, he enjoyed NASCAR, the Yankees, the Chiefs, and is survived by his wife, stepchildren, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard "Dick" Bruce, 83, died on Apr 17, 2025; a longtime teacher and coach at Stamford High School, he was an avid golfer, advocate for educators and individuals with disabilities, and is survived by his daughter, brother, other relatives and nieces and nephews.
Michael A. DeMarco Jr., 80, died April 16, 2025; a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and licensed electrician who spent decades with IBEW Local 3, he owned Harley Davidson of Norwalk and enjoyed Corvettes, beagles, Sunday rides, college football, UConn women’s basketball, and reading about health and construction equipment.
Gary C. Morgan Sr., 57, died April 16, 2025; a licensed electrician for nearly 40 years, he also coached youth baseball, basketball, and football, enjoyed collecting, attending events, spending time with his son, and was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan.
Jean Mariano, 97, died on April 1, 2025; a dedicated homemaker who found joy in cooking, socializing, and caring for dogs, she is survived by two children, three granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
