John "Jack" Cavanaugh, 99, who died Aug 25, 2025, was a U.S. Navy veteran, Syracuse University graduate, longtime journalist with The New York Times, Reuters, UPI, ABC, CBS, and Sports Illustrated, acclaimed sportswriter and author of numerous books including the Pulitzer-nominated "Tunney," university lecturer, and lifelong athlete in basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, skiing, and swimming.

William "Bill" Potolicchio, 72, who died Aug 2025, was a devout Catholic and lifelong St. John’s parishioner, longtime dairy manager with Grand Union and Stop & Shop, avid softball player and coach honored with multiple awards, Rockrimmon Country Club caddy turned golfer, and dedicated community member.

Jacolyn "Jackie" Anne Connolly, 90, who died Aug 21, 2025, was a Carnegie Mellon graduate in foods and nutrition, publishing professional with Vogue, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, and later medical journals, past president and honorary member of the Shippan Point Garden Club, active parishioner at Our Lady Star of the Sea, and avid gardener, cook, knitter, traveler, and concertgoer.

Antonio "Tony" Catino, 85, who died Aug 19, 2025, was an Italian-born butcher who lived in Stamford for many years, enjoyed fishing, bocce, and telling jokes.

Elizabeth "Betty" Burbank, 90, who died Aug 17, 2025, worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 35 years and enjoyed traveling, the beach, ice skating, tobogganing, cookies, and spending time with friends and family.
