Richard Caldwell Lutterman, 82, died Aug. 3, 2025, following a career as an aircraft engineer and military service as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army National Guard, later enjoying woodworking, volunteering with law enforcement and theater, and spending time with his family in retirement.

Nicholas Joseph Braccia Jr., 78, died July 31, 2025, after a 38-year career with the Stamford Police Department, later working in appliance sales, running a baseball card business, coaching youth sports, and participating in APBA Baseball and Knights of Columbus activities.
Harold H. Hessel, 97, died July 29, 2025, following a career as President and CEO of Stewart-Hall Chemical Corporation and a lifelong interest in business and family.

Burton Piaser, 86, died July 28, 2025, following a career in the semiconductor industry as founder of Phoenix Sales, with interests in classical music, antiques, stamp collecting, photography, and fine wine.
Ida Aurello, 91, died July 26, 2025. She worked as a seamstress and Central Supply Technician, enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling, and participating in her church’s Rosary Society.
Mario Smeriglio, 90, passed away July 23, 2025; a meticulous painting contractor and longtime Sons of Italy member, he enjoyed jai alai, horse and dog racing, poker, and organizing social events, and is survived by his sons, grandchildren, siblings, and his significant other.
Susan A. Vontobel, 72, died July 18, 2025, after retiring from a 20-year career at AIFS and was known for her devotion to animals, passion for reading, concerts, Broadway, and Yankees baseball.
Jeffrey T. Curtis Sr., 69, died July 15, 2025, after a long career in hospital facilities management and public service, including his tenure as president of Stamford’s Board of Representatives, and was known for his deep faith, community involvement, and commitment to Sacred Heart Church.
Patrick C. McGrath, 61, died July 14, 2025. He worked for the Stamford Sanitation Department and public schools and spent several years in National Parks, especially Yellowstone, where he found the greatest joy in nature.
Patricia Ann Dellipoali, 78, died July 13, 2025; she was a licensed hairdresser, preschool teacher, and landscape and ceramics painter who centered her life around raising children, both at home and in the classroom.
James Francis Caterbone III, 65, died July 11, 2025; known for his love of softball, a game he played for nearly four decades at both local and national levels. Jim also enjoyed his professional career that spanned IT operations, advertising, and real estate.
