Stamford High School Participates in ‘Meet the Leaders' Program
Students met with Senator Richard Blumenthal for conversation on the importance of Veterans Day, public service and leadership.
From Meet The Leaders: Students at Stamford High School today took part in Altice Connects “Meet the Leaders at School” program which took place on campus in Stamford, CT. United States Senator Richard Blumenthal participated in the event along with students from the high school.
In honor of Veterans Day, the program focused on the importance of the holiday, public service and leadership. Senator Blumenthal invited Phil Kraft, a veteran who is also the president and executive director of National Veterans Services Fund, Inc. to join him for a panel discussion moderated by David Smith. The panel focused on the meaning of Veterans Day and included a question and answer session with the students. More than 75 students, staff and guests were in attendance.
“Veterans Day offers a moment to gather as a country to honor veterans of all eras, to remember our debt to military men throughout history and recognize the sacrifices of their loved ones,” said Senator Blumenthal. “We must fight to ensure our veterans have the healthcare they need, the opportunities they earned, and the gratitude they deserve. I thank Altice for this opportunity to join students in discussing the importance of this day.”
