Stamford Man Is Accused of Setting Neighbor's Steps on Fire
The incident involving the 71-year-old suspect reportedly occurred last November.
An elderly Stamford man is facing third-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief charges after he allegedly set fire to a neighbor’s front step last fall.
Ralph Vitti, 71, of Lewelyn Road, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Nov. 6 fire at 46 Charles St., according to The Advocate. Vitti reportedly was identified as the suspect from a neighbor’s surveillance video and police interviews with neighbors, according to the report.

Vitti was released after posting a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in state Superior Court in Stamford on March 3.
