Stamford Man Gets 8 Years in Murder for Hire Case
He was convicted of having an ex-employee hire a hit man to kill his wife's Greenwich boyfriend.

STAMFORD, CT - A Stamford businessman who was convicted in a murder for hire case in which the Greenwich boyfriend of the man’s wife was the intended target has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
However, a state Superior Court judge allowed Miguel Juarez to remain free on a $500,000 bond while his lawyers appeal his conviction last April on conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder charges, according to The Advocate.
Juarez is expected to remain free for about a year while the appeal is filed and he finalizes his divorce from his wife Orfilda. Juarez was rested in July 2011 and convicted last year of having a former employee arrange for a hit man to kill his wife’s boyfriend — a hit man who turned out to be a Greenwich Police officer.
