Suspected Stamford Drug Dealer Nabbed in Raid
Stamford Police say the suspect tried to escape by jumping from a second-story window while holding a loaded handgun.
STAMFORD, CT - Stamford Police shut down a suspected city drug dealer after officers raided a Fairfield Avenue residence that they said is known for drug dealing and being the scene of several shootings.
It was about 2 a.m. Saturday when members of the Narcotics and Organized Crime Task Force and the Special Response Unit raided the multi-family home at 293 Fairfield Ave., according to Capt. Richard Conklin.
The suspect police were seeking "jumps out of a second-floor window with a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun in his hand. He dropped the gun as he grabbed for a tree to break his fall," Conklin said.

"He was dazed and officers took him into custody and recovered the gun that was loaded with a bullet," Conklin also said.
In addition to the .45-caliber Hi-Point handgun, police confiscated three ounces of marijuana and digital scales, according to Conklin.
The suspect, identified as Antonio Robinson, 21, of 293 Fairfield Ave., was charged with resisting arrest, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and altering the numbers of a firearm.
Conklin said Robinson's "bond was set at $100,000 but that was a moot point because he was on probation and the Department of Corrections revoked his probation and ordered him remanded."
According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Robinson was on probation for robbery convictions. He is scheduled to appear April 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
