Video Shows ICE Arresting Man Outside Stamford Courthouse: Report

Two men were arrested by federal agents outside the Stamford Superior Courthouse Monday, according to a local media report.

STAMFORD, CT — A video shared online this week appears to show federal agents detaining a man in the parking garage outside the Stamford Superior Courthouse, according to a report from News 12 CT, who said two men were arrested by ICE agents on Monday.

In the video, News 12 CT reported, four agents wearing FBI vests can be seen wrestling with a man on the ground inside the parking garage, with one of the agents wearing a face covering.

When a bystander tries to intervene, one of the agents can be heard yelling, "You're f—ing next, shut your mouth!"

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told News 12 CT two "criminal illegal aliens" who are facing criminal charges in separate cases were arrested.

Gov. Ned Lamont and Connecticut’s top judicial officials in September announced new rules for federal immigration agents.

The new policy requires federal agents such as ICE officers to obtain a judicial warrant before making an arrest inside a courthouse. It also bars law enforcement from wearing masks while conducting enforcement actions there, unless medically necessary.

Lamont said the policy, issued by Chief Justice Patrick Mullins, is intended to ensure that courthouses remain safe and accessible to everyone, regardless of immigration status.
