Bob's Furnishes Support For High Hopes in Old Lyme
The East Lyme Discount Furniture Store has adopted a horse and provided an in-kind donation of furniture for student housing at the Old Lyme therapeutic riding center.

Through year-round therapeutic riding and horsemanship programs, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding in Old Lyme offers opportunities for skill building and achievement to individuals of all ages who face a multitude of challenges each day.
With students coming from across the globe to attend instructor training, it is crucial High Hopes provides convenient, affordable accommodations. This spring, High Hopes asked local retailer Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Outreach Program for assistance in furnishing an on-campus student home. Bob’s responded by donating furniture for nearly the entire home – including the kitchen, living room and bedrooms, providing a comfortable environment for students to learn and relax in.
Bob’s has been an longtime supporter of the organization, providing volunteer hours as well as monetary and in-kind donations – including sponsorship of fundraising events and the “Adopt a Horse” program, sponsoring Buddy, a beautiful Percheron therapy horse.
The High Hopes experience combines the healing power of the human animal bond with targeted and attainable goals reached through individualized equine assisted activities. A PATH Intl. premier accredited center, High Hopes is one of only six centers in the United States qualified to provide training and PATH Intl. certification as a therapeutic riding instructor. To-date High Hopes has trained over 200 instructors from throughout the United States and around the world, including Israel, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Ireland, Croatia, England, Mexico, and South and Central America.
