Burglaries in Lyme Under Investigation
Recent burglaries on Blood Street and Joshuatown Road prompted Troop F to release the following warning and info to residents.

Sgt. John H. Mesham of Troop F in Westbrook said troopers are investigating burglaries in Lyme and urged residents to be vigilant, especially during the holiday season.
He released the following statement:
“Please keep in mind that FedEx and UPS use unmarked white vans this time of year to keep up with the holiday influx of packages. Some of the drivers tend to be seasonal help and not all that familiar with the roads.

You may see them parked either sorting packages or finding their way. If you see a van (or any vehicle) and think it is suspicious please look for markings and preferably the marker plate. Number and descriptions of occupants is a bonus.
Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to Troop F at 860.399.2100 or 911 for emergencies.

There have been some recent house burglaries in Lyme. Trooper Reid is investigating the Blood Street burglary and Trooper Borelli is investigating one on Joshuatown Road. They can be left messages via the troop voice mail system at 860-399-2111.”
