Niantic Lions LobsterFest and Art Show This Weekend
With more than 180 artists and crafters and a yummy menu of lobster and chicken BBQ to choose from you'll need two days to see and sample everything.
This weekend, Niantic Lions Club will host its 35th Annual LobsterFest and 53rd Annual Juried Arts & Craft Show at East Lyme Town Hall grounds on Pennsylvania Avenue in Niantic.
Admission is free to the arts and crafts show, which is extensive. More than 180 vendors are expected to attend this year, with a wide range of offerings from paintings and carvings, to pottery and soaps.
After you've worked up an appetite, it's time to sample the fine fare at the LobsterFest, which in addition to a traditional New England lobster, also offers chicken BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, clam chowder, and clam fritters. Dinners come with hot-buttered corn on the cob, chips, and soda.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. The proceeds from this event go to charity.
