Police Investigate Theft in Old Lyme, Fire in Lyme

State Police Troop F are looking for leads in an investigation into a break-in at the Shell Gas Station in Old Lyme and are investigating a suspicious fire in Lyme.

Break-In At Shell Gas Station In Old Lyme

State Police Troop F are investigating a break-in that happened sometime between 10 p.m. on April 13 and 5:50 a.m. April 14 at the Shell Gas Station at 85 Halls Road in Old Lyme. 

According to the police report, the thief or thieves smashed the front window and stole $150 from the cash register drawer and about 77 cartons of cigarettes. Police have no suspects at this time. 

Suspicious Fire In Lyme 

On April 14, State Trooper Justin Lanati was dispatched at 9:30 a.m. to investigate a suspicious vehicle fire on Lord Hill Lane in Lyme. The officer arrived to find that a log skidder had been set on fire the previous night and that, though the fire had been extinguished, it had done considerable damage. The state fire marshall's office responded to the scene and determined that the fire had been intentionally set. The case is still under investigation.
