Talking About Drugs—Marijuana Forum in East Lyme

It's never too soon to get the conversation started if the topic is drug abuse.

For a long time, the message kids received about marijuana was simple: Just Say NO!

Now that Connecticut has legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes, however, that message may be more mixed. So what do your kids need to know about marijuana?

You can find out on May 2, when the Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Coalition of East Lyme holds a Marijuana Forum presented by guest speaker Alicia Farrell, Ph.D.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. at the East Lyme Youth Center. Parents are encouraged to attend and to bring their children, 8th grade and older, with them.

"This educational forum will be a great conversation starter for families," said East Lyme Youth Services Director Sarah Butterfield.
