TOLLAND, CT — A driver fond passed out on a highway ramp in Tolland is now facing drunken driving and drug charges, state police said.

The incident took place 8:41 p.m. on Oct. 11, according to an arrest report. State police said they received numerous 911 calls about a white Ford Escape sitting on the Interstate 84 westbound off-ramp.

Troopers then found the driver asleep at the wheel, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Putnam, was charged with driving under the influence, improper parking on a highway, the use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (first offense).
