TOLLAND, CT — A driver without a seat belt was thrown from his vehicle in a Tolland crash, state police said.

The accident took place at 9:14 a.m. on the day after Christmas. State police recently released a report on the incident.

According to a crash report, a 2003 Ford Ranger was headed west along the 1500 block of Tolland Stage Road and the driver, a 31-year-old man from Chaplin, was "exceeding the speed limit."

The pickup truck an off the road to the right and hit a tree and the driver was ejected from the cab, when it overturned, according to a crash report. The driver refused transport to an area hospital and was issued a warning for failure to use a seat belt, state police said.
