NORTH-CENTRAL CT — Today's edition of this informative periodic series on Patch sites in north-central Connecticut, providing facts and figures about some of the state routes which wind through the area, takes us to a road which originates in Hartford County, but makes its way through four towns in Tolland County before ending in a small Windham County community.

Route 74 begins at an intersection with Route 194 in South Windsor and proceeds northeastward into the southwestern part of Ellington, where it continues northeastward and then loops southeastward into Vernon. It continues to a concurrency with Route 83 through the west end of Rockville, but when 83 turns north, 74 continues east toward Tolland.

After sharing a brief concurrency with Route 30 until the Tolland Green, 74 continues east through Tolland and Willington, with a brief concurrency with Route 320. It crosses into Ashford, and ends at the junction of U.S. 44.
