Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Hartford/Tolland County: New Updates
The National Weather Service issued new weather updates for a strong storm that will impact the area for two days. Here are the new updates.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for northern Connecticut for both Friday and Saturday due to the expected impacts former Tropical Storm Nicole will have on the area.
In a statement issued Friday morning, the weather service said, "South to southwest winds may gusts up to 50 mph tonight in heavy showers. This may result in isolated tree damage/power outages. South to southwest winds may gusts up to 50 mph Saturday morning in heavy showers. This may result in isolated tree damage/power outages."
Accuweather.com says that there is a chance for thunderstorms and peak wind gusts of between 40-60 mph.

"Once Nicole races off to the northeast into the North Atlantic, chillier conditions will settle into the Great Lakes and Northeast," Accuweather.com said. "The change in high temperatures will be drastic; within just 48 hours, afternoon high temperatures will be slashed by as much as 20 degrees. High temperatures early next week are likely to be as much as 5-10 degrees below normal for mid-November and to stick around through much of next week." (Read more at Accuweather.com).

Hartford County forecast details via the National Weather Service:
Veterans Day: Showers, mainly after 3pm. Patchy fog between 8am and 9am. High near 70. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then showers likely between 1am and 2am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog before 1am, then patchy fog after 4am. Low around 63. Breezy, with a south wind 14 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Saturday: Showers likely, mainly before 10am. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 21 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A slight chance of rain after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog before 1am, then patchy fog after 4am. Low around 61. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Saturday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then a slight chance of showers between 11am and noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog before 7am. High near 69. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 21 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: A slight chance of rain after 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: A slight chance of rain before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
