Loose Tire Causes Havoc On Stretch Of Highway In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A bounding tire caused havoc on a stretch of Interstate 84 in Tolland, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 38-year-old Tolland woman was in a 2024 Hyundai Pallisade, heading west in the left lane of I-84 about a half mile past Exit 68, when a tire came bounding toward the SUV.

It had come loose from an unknown vehicle in front of her, according to a crash report.

The tire first hit the front end of the Hyundai and then partially tore off its rear bumper, according to a crash report.

No injuries were reported, and the vehicle from which the tire flew off evaded the scene, according to a crash report.
