Merry Garrett is in Top 10 of Singer Elton John's Style Icon

Connecticut Community Activist Merry C. Garrett is in Top 10 as a Style Icon Raising Funds for Famous Singer Elton John's AIDS Foundation charity.

Long time Connecticut Community Activist Merry Garrett has helped raise money, provided services and supplied resources to various nonprofit organizations over the decades. A life long resident of Connecticut Merry's a retired Director of Regulatory Insurance Technology and retired small businessowner.

Besides being a Community Activist, she's currently a State of Connecticut Justice of the Peace. Also, when not involved with her various civic activities and organizations Merry spends time gardening, documenting the history of clothes buttons, singing, reading, adventuring, creating unique mixed media artworks and theatrical side gigging via television and movies.

After being acknowledged by many for her 2025 Met Gala outfit she was encouraged to assist with raising funds for Elton John's foundation. After going through the admission and review process she was accepted and thus far has advanced to the second to the last chapter of the fundraiser by reaching the Top 10 and 4th in her category worldwide. The next step is to reach the Top five.

When asked why she decided to take part in the fundraiser Merry said... "Today, many organizations are or will be lacking in funding due to our country's "current administration's" cutting or holding hostage vital life services people need. Everyone should be concerned about the spread of infectious diseases. With growing concerns in regards to increasing medical premiums and stopping SNAP benefits - which feeds children, elderly, military familes, our sick and so many others... now more than ever we need to ensure we do not take our eyes off of worthy treatments and potential cures. Foundations such as Elton's helps to ensure medical treatments and research continue to progress and not go backwards - especially during these difficult times."

Merry was asked what will she do if she wins top prize? She replied, "I have not thought that far ahead. I am so surprised and grateful to everyone that voted thus far which got me to the top 10 and 4th in my category worldwide. I'm a vintage aged lady so this was completely unexpected. If I win the top prize I will continue with my family's philanthropic efforts. Many organizations across the our state are in need of help and as we already have done we will be there to give more."
