TOLLAND, CT — A man was airlifted to an area hospital after a mini bike accident in Tolland, fire officials and state police said.

The incident occurred at 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to a state police crash report and fire officials, a 40-year-old East Hartford man was riding a Coleman mini bike on the dirt section of Shenipsit lake Road, heading east.

For some unknown reason, the man lost control of the bike, and he fell off, according to a crash report.

He suffered a laceration to his face and was taken to Hartford Hospital via Life Star helicopter, fire officials and state police said. The injuries, however, were estimated to be minor, according to a crash report.
