Motorcycle Rider Flown To Hospital In Eastern CT Police Pursuit Crash

COLCHESTER, CT — A motorcycle being driven by a Tolland man crashed during a state police pursuit in Colchester.

The incident took place at 7:38 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Lebanon Avenue and Windham Avenue, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2001 Triumph TT600 sport bike being operated by a 34-year-old Tolland man was driving "recklessly" while trying to elude a traffic stop. While at a high rate of speed and heading east, the bike "continued straight" at the Y-shaped intersection and crashed into the parking lot of Colchester Florist, according to a crash report.

The rider sustained serious injuries and was airlifted Hartford Hospital, according to a crash report.

No charges had been filed as of Monday morning.
