TOLLAND, CT — The is a new version of a common scam circulating in Tolland County involving police imposters, authorities said.

State police from the Troop C barracks issued a warning Thursday. They have advised the public about similar scams in the past.

Said state police, "Troop C has received reports of a phone scam where the scammer is stating you missed jury duty. The scammer claims there is a warrant for your arrest and tries to get you to give out personal or financial information to pay a 'bond,'" state police said.

State police said those receiving such calls should, hang up right away, never give out any personal or banking information, block the number and report the number.
