Severe Weather Forecast For Northern Connecticut: Here's When, What To Know
It looks like we'll have multiple chances for severe weather across northern Connecticut this week. Here's when and what to know.

NORTHERN CONNECTICUT — There is a chance for severe storms on both Monday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The best chance for storms is on Monday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon and night.
"We have issued a *First Alert* for Monday afternoon and evening due to the development of scattered areas of rain and storms," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Towns along and to the east of I-91 are in a slight (level 2 out of 5) risk for strong to severe thunderstorms and areas west of the interstate are in a marginal (level 1 out of 5). Plan to bring in the patio cushions and close your patio umbrella! Storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, a gusty wind, and hail greater than 1.″

"Data continues to show an impactful cold front that will bring rain and storms Wednesday afternoon and evening," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Ahead of this front our dew points will surge to near 70 meaning a tropical feel to the air. There is a level 1 risk for excessive rainfall and strong to severe storms are likely, so we have issued a *First Alert* for potential impacts to travel and outdoor activities. Some of the storms on Wednesday could pack a big punch so we will watch for any elevated risk assessments to be issued for our state." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
