Pickup Truck Hits DOT Truck At Construction Area In Tolland
A driver failed to heed highway construction warnings in Tolland, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A pickup truck whacked a state DOT vehicle at a construction site in Tolland early Monday morning, state police said.
According to a state police crash report, at 11:09 a.m. Monday, an unoccupied state Department of Transportation truck was parked in the left lane of I-84 westbound, about three-tenths-of-a-mile shy of the Exit 67 interchange. A Rivian pickup truck with a 37-year-old Orleans, MA, man behind the wheel was in the left lane in the same area, according to a crash report.
The driver of the pickup failed to heed merge warnings and hit the DOT truck's impact attenuator on the rear right-side, according to a crash report.

Both lane closure signs and cones were set up on the left shoulder and left lane to war of upcoming construction and multiple trucks were present, state police said in a crash report.
The driver refused medical attention at the scene and the pickup was towed away, sate police said.
