Rep. Tammy Nuccio Cross-Endorsed by Independent Party of Connecticut

TOLLAND, CT - The state’s leading alternative political party dedicated to ensuring open, commonsense governance, has announce that its members are backing State Representative Tammy Nuccio, the candidate for State Representative for the 53rd House District, which is composed of Tolland, Vernon and Willington.

The Independent Party of Connecticut officially cross-endorsed Nuccio, the Republican candidate, at its statewide convention on Aug. 18. The Independent Party works to bring together a coalition to “help solve many of our state’s long standing issues, so we can all have better lives.”

“I am honored to receive the cross-endorsement of the Independent Party of Connecticut, which I have received since my first term in 2020,” said Nuccio. “During my time in Hartford I have always put people over politics. I pride myself on my ability to act and think independently, which has earned the trust of my constituents and colleagues across all party affiliations.”

Party officials say they represent people who think for themselves and wish to advance the welfare and well-being of Connecticut residents through commonsense governance both statewide and at the local, municipal level. Representative Nuccio reflects the core Independent Party beliefs of people over politics, thinking independently, and leading with civility, integrity and transparency.

Rep. Nuccio is the Ranking Member of the legislature’s Appropriations Committee, which has cognizance of all matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies. As part of her role, she fought hard for the passage of the state’s first income tax cut since 1991, among many other accomplishments in her first two terms.

She is a dedicated public servant and has several past appointments to local boards and commissions, including serving on the Tolland Town Council.
