TOLLAND, CT — An uncooperative driver is facing a DUI charge after a swerving pursuit over the weekend that ended in Tolland, stAte police said.

According to a state police arrest report, at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, the Troop C barracks received a 911 call about a black Chevrolet Malibu with a distinct vanity plate swerving and speeding on Route 140 in Ellington.

State police picked up the car's trail on Buff Cap Road in Tolland, where it was also swerving, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 63-year-old Tolland man who lives nearby, showed visible signs of intoxication at a subsequent traffic stop and failed to take a sobriety test, according to an arrest report.

He was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain the proper lane, state police said.
