Tolland Church Hosting Special Connecticut Women's Chorus Concert

TOLLAND, CT — For the members of Another Octave Connecticut Women's Chorus, their bags are backed and they're ready to go ... to the United Congregational Church of Tolland.

The church is scheduled to host the group on Saturday (May 11) for a 3 p.m. performance entitled "In Transit," with a lively and iconic song set that is true to its monicker.

So yes, the aforementioned lyrics by John Denver, made even more famous by Peter, Paul and Mary and United Airlines commercials in the 1960s and '70s, will b part of the show.

In addition to "Leaving on a Jet Plane," the set list features travel by foot ("These Boots are Made for Walkin), by water ("Love Boat"), by rail ("Midnight Train to Georgia" and the Marrakesh Express") and even intergalactic ("Space Oddity").

There is even some spirituality mixed in.

The church is located at 45 Tolland Green.

Admission if free, but a free-will offering will be taken.
