Tolland Firefighters Battle Intense Blaze Involving SUV On Highway

TOLLAND, CT — A sport utility vehicle burst into flames in Interstate 84 in Tolland Monday afternoon.

Tolland Fire Department officials reported the incident at about 4:30 p.m. It took place on the westbound side of I-84, just past Exit 69, fire officials said. The driver managed to get the vehicle to the shoulder safely, but photos from the scene show the front half of the SUV engulfed in flames.

The highway was completely shut down while firefighters took care of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
