2024 USA BMX New England Nationals Races Into Trumbull
Hundreds of professional and amateur BMX riders from around the world will race through Trumbull this weekend.

TRUMBULL, CT — Hundreds of professional and amateur BMX riders from around the world will descend to Trumbull this weekend, July 26-28, for the 2024 U.S.A. BMX New England Nationals.
According to a news release posted to the town website, the three-day event will be held at Trumbull BMX at Indian Ledge Park Road in Trumbull. Races begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday with competitors racing well into the evening.

Parking is $10 per day, and fans are welcome to watch and cheer on their favorite riders as they expertly navigate jumps, twists, and turns along the track.
"We are pleased to welcome back the USA BMX New England Nationals to Trumbull BMX and are confident the athletes, their families and spectators will enjoy everything that Connecticut has to offer," Robert Murdock, president of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau said in a news release. "With people coming here from over 30 states and Canada, this exciting event is expected to generate $2.35 million in revenue over three days as visitors stay in area hotels, dine in local restaurants, shop in the region and enjoy nearby attractions."

According to Murdock, approximately 825 jobs in the region's hospitality industry will be supported by this event, and over $92,500 in Connecticut sales tax will be generated.
Spectators who cannot get enough of the heart-pumping action of the event can give their own wheels a spin at an open house event hosted at Trumbull BMX on Thursday, Aug. 1, where first-timers can borrow a loaner BMX bike and helmet for $20 (or bring their own) and take a spin on the track to get a taste of what BMX riding is all about.
The event is open to anyone who is not already a member of USA BMX, according to the release.
USA BMX New England Nationals (July 26-28, 2024)

USA BMX Open House (Aug. 1, 2024)
- 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
According to Chris Gombos, the track operator of Trumbull BMX for over six years, local riders and track volunteers alike have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming national, expecting hundreds of riders from across the country to attend the event.
"We are extremely excited to be hosting the New England Nationals," Gombos said in a news release. "Our local riders have been working hard and are stoked to compete against the best riders from around the country. Our volunteers have put in countless hours to make the track and facility the best it can be, and I can say this is the best the track has ridden to date."
Notable local riders like nationally ranked Devin Murphy, 25, and 12-year-old Max Meinel, who is nationally ranked number five in his age group, will be competing at the USA BMX New England Nationals this weekend, according to the release.
