3 Men Arrive In Stolen Car To Break Into Vehicles: Trumbull Police
A police officer saw three men walking, and they told the officer they were lost and looking for their vehicle, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — Three men are accused of arriving in a stolen car to break into vehicles in Trumbull, police said.
Police said they arrested three men after they parked a stolen car and were entering nearby vehicles on Saturday, July 27.
Jamere Sutton, 18, of Bridgeport, Jamarri Covington, 20, and Timothy Covington, 22, both of New Haven were charged, police said.

Around 10:30 p.m., Trumbull officers responded to the area of Smith Drive for reports of men entering and stealing items from vehicles in the neighborhood, police said.
The first responding officer saw three men, matching the suspects’ descriptions, walking on Lorma Avenue near Blackhouse Road, police said.

The officer detained all three men, who told the officer that they were lost and looking for their car, police said. As officers attempted to positively identify them, they all provided officers with false information as to their true identities, police said. As officers were investigating and speaking with these men, witnesses arrived and positively identified them as the suspects that were responsible for opening and entering their vehicle which they had recorded on video, police added.
The three men were arrested and found to be in possession of various stolen items, including identifications and credit cards that were issued under the names of various other victims, police said.
Timothy was also found to be in possession of a key to a Nissan which was able to gain access into a black Nissan Murano that was parked nearby on Lorma Avenue, police said. The license plate on this Nissan Murano had been reported stolen from Hamden, and this Nissan Murano had been reported stolen from New Haven, police said.
Jamarri, Timothy, and Jamere were all transported to the Trumbull Police Department where they were processed and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, third-degree criminal trespass, third-degree forgery, possession of stolen credit cards, interfering with an officer, breach of peace, and three counts of conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle.
They were each held on a $20,000 bond. Timothy was additionally charged with possession of a stolen license plate, and misuse of a license plate.
"The Trumbull Police would also like to remind all residents of the continued thefts from unlocked motor vehicles, stolen vehicle complaints where keys are left inside, and stress the importance to ALWAYS LOCK YOUR VEHICLES, remove all packages and valuables, and never leave their keys inside," police said in a statement.
"Remember A.L.E.R.T.S. – Advise Law Enforcement Regarding Thieves Swiftly to assist in catching criminals. Residents are asked to use features that are readily available on their security systems to inform them of motion on their property, then notify the local police as soon as security system motion ALERTS are received. Always immediately report any suspicious persons or activity to the police and dial 911 for all emergencies.
