4 Charged in Alleged Credit Card Fraud

The FBI is helping in the investigation, Trumbull Police said.

A suspicious vehicle report led to the arrest of four men on 53 counts of credit card fraud May 23.

Police said a car was reported parked on Whalburn Avenue and two men inside were moving items around. Officers found a container of credit cards that had different names than the suspects', police said.

Officers then located two more men parked in the lot of the nearby Westfield Trumbull Mall.

The FBI and state Financial Crimes department are helping investigate.

Xiongming Wang, 26, and Xiao Bing Chen, 29, both of California, are each charged with third-degree larceny, three counts of illegal furnishing of goods and services and 53 counts each of:

  • credit card theft
  • illegal use of a credit card
  • third-degree identity theft
  • second-degree forgery
  • unlawful reproduction of a credit card.
Also arrested were Zhengran Cui, 31, and Shengyi Cui, 39, of Flushing, N.Y., who are charged with 53 counts each of credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, third-degree identity theft, second-degree forgery and illegal reproduction of a credit card.

All the men were held in lieu of $250,000 bond each for appearances in Bridgeport Superior Court.
