Bomb Threat Leads To Increased Security At Trumbull Elementary School: Town
Town officials said the school was briefly placed on lockdown after receiving an emailed bomb threat; police determined it was non-credible.

TRUMBULL, CT — Tashua Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown Monday afternoon after receiving an emailed bomb threat, which police determined was non-credible, according to town officials.
In a statement, First Selectman Vicki Tesoro said Tashua was already receiving attention due to a social media post made by a teacher at the school last week.
The post was "seen by many" and included the school's address and phone number, according to Tesoro.

The school did not receive any threats over the weekend, however there was still a police presence at the school Monday due to the wide spread of the social media post, according to Tesoro.
Around 2:45 p.m., the school received a threatening email reporting a bomb had been placed on school grounds. The threat was immediately reported to police and the school "went into a stay put mode," Tesoro said.

Police quickly arrived at the school and searched both inside and outside the building, according to Tesoro.
"After all areas had been inspected, this was determined to be a non-credible threat and the school proceeded with dismissal," Tesoro said in a statement.
Tesoro also noted Police Chief Michael Lombardo has assured the Tashua community there will be a continued police presence at the school, as well as an increased number of security guards on the Tashua campus.
"Please be assured that the town, the Trumbull Police Department and our schools' superintendent will continue to work together," Tesoro said, "to ensure the safety of our students and staff."
Tesoro's statement can be read in full on the town website.
