Car Possibly Stolen From Trumbull Linked To Home Burglary: Darien PD
"The suspects, startled by barking dogs, fled the scene, but not before stealing a purse from the foyer," police said.
DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is actively investigating a residential burglary that occurred around 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Police said officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Clock Avenue.
"Responding officers were then flagged down by a Garden City Road resident who reported their home had just been burglarized," police said in a news release. "It was then determined that suspects forced entry through the front window of the Garden City Road residence. The suspects, startled by barking dogs, fled the scene, but not before stealing a purse from the foyer. The purse was later recovered in the driveway; however, nothing was determined to be missing from it."

Detectives recovered surveillance footage. Through their investigation, it was determined that the suspicious vehicle, that had been initially reported, was used by the suspects and was possibly stolen from the town of Trumbull several days prior, police said.
Additionally, Westport Police attempted to stop the vehicle shortly after the burglary, but the suspects fled.
