Colleen had a big heart and always opened her home to anyone who needed a place to feel welcome.

Colleen Mary Cain, 73, of Stratford CT, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on December 3, 2025 surrounded by love. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Mary Anderson, as well as her sisters, Jackie and Pat.
Colleen was born in Trumbull, CT as the youngest of four sisters, with another baby sister joining the family a few years later. She grew up surrounded by the love of her sisters and shared a special bond with many of her cousins whom she cherished dearly.
She married her soulmate, John, whom she met while working together at Western Auto. She was smitten the minute he drew hearts all over her favorite coffee cup. They spent the next 46 years creating endless memories together both enjoying their yearly summer vacation to Lake George and the family farm in Vermont.

Colleen worked hard her entire life but always made time for her family. She loved being a mother to her two daughters, Monica and Shauna, and she attended every school concert, field day, class party and everything in between. As her kids grew and started families of their own, she continued to attend every recital, sporting event and award ceremony for the grandkids who stole her heart. She was one of their favorite people to spend time with and famously let them get away with things she never would have let her own children do!
Colleen had a big heart and always opened her home to anyone who needed a place to feel welcome. Her house was often overrun with neighborhood kids and school friends who always felt at home. If someone didn't have a place to enjoy a holiday dinner or needed a room to stay for a few days, or even months, Colleen always opened her doors.
