Martha Figueroa, 64, of Bridgeport, is charged with first-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device and interfering with police.
Police said Figueroa took clothing valued at $280 but was stopped and taken to the security officer, where she tried to kick a razor under a desk. She cut her hand and wiped the blood on a stolen shirt, police said.
She is free on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
