CT TV News Anchor Leaves Station To Take On New Role

Margaux Farrell joined Fox61 in April 2017, five years after winning a bronze medal in swimming at the 2012 London Olympics.

CONNECTICUT — Margaux Farrell, an anchor at Fox61 since 2017, is leaving the station to become marketing director at Root Center for Advanced Recovery, "a mental/behavioral health and addiction clinic," she announced on Twitter.

"Today, I am saying goodbye to my Fox fam to pursue another passion of mine," she wrote.

Over the years, Farrell has logged several stories about behavioral health, addiction and recovery, and she is excited about the new challenge.

"4am won't be the same without my loyal early morning risers, and of course, the rest of our wonderful viewers who tune in daily," she wrote. "I hope you'll follow me on my next adventure as I try to help change the lives of those who are struggling."

While at IU, she was an All-American swimmer, and in 2012, she swam for France in the London Olympics, where she won a bronze medal.

Following her Olympic success, Farrell attended the University of Southern California, where she obtained a master's degree in broadcast journalism, and despite her new role at Root Center, she said she is not leaving television entirely.

"But, don't think you're getting me off your tube just yet... I'll still be with @bigtennetwork covering more sporting events now," she wrote.
