
Dr. James Appiah-Pippim, of Trumbull, has been appointed Director of Education, Critical Care Medicine at Quinnipiac University, said Lucinda Ames, St. Vincent's Medical Center spokeswoman.
St. Vincent’s is the primary clinical partner for the new Quinnipiac medical school, set to open in fall of this year.
Appiah-Pippim has already assumed some responsibilities with the medical school as a member of the diversity committee and in helping to develop the physiology medical school curriculum.
Appiah-Pippim is board certified and specializes in critical care, internal medicine and pulmonary disease, according to Ames.
He received his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Ghana. Appiah-Pippim completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital and Health Center in Dayton, Ohio and his fellowship in preventative medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital.
