Dr. Jae Jin Kim ran Milford Walk-In Medical Care Center for over 32 years, where she offered compassionate and personal care to all patients

Dr. Jae Jin (J.J.) Kim, a devoted physician, loving wife, and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. J.J. was born on November 19, 1936 to the late Byung Sun Kim and Kyung Yul Kim. Beloved wife of 65 years to Yung Duk Kim.

J.J. was born in Hamheung, in northern Korea, before the country was divided. In the face of great hardship, her family fled to South Korea, where they sought safety and a new beginning. There, J.J. pursued her education at Ewha University, studying medicine with a steadfast determination to help others.

In 1960, she married her beloved husband and followed him to Canada in 1964 to continue their lives together. J.J. went on to attend graduate school at Western University in Ontario, where she earned her PhD in Biochemistry. She completed her internship at New York Metropolitan Medical Hospital and her residency at Beth Israel Hospital, specializing in anesthesiology, before beginning her medical career at Brooklyn Veteran’s Hospital, where she cared for veterans for five years. She later served as Medical Director of the staff clinic at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center for eight years.

In 1987, J.J. shifted her focus to general medicine, becoming one of the founding members of New England Medical Care Center, Inc. In this role, she oversaw multiple practices, ensuring each met the highest standards of care. Ultimately, her passion for forming personal relationships with patients inspired her to open her own practice. She took over Milford Walk-In Medical Care Center, which she ran for over 32 years, transforming it from a small clinic into a thriving, trusted medical office. Patients often expressed that what made J.J. extraordinary was her ability to truly listen and care. She dedicated countless late nights to ensure every patient received the time, respect, and compassion they deserved. Over the years, she received many heartfelt letters of gratitude from those she cared for, which she treasured deeply throughout her life.

Outside of her profession, J.J. carried the same devotion and warmth into her family life. She loved tending to her one-acre garden, where her roses brought her endless joy when they bloomed each season. A lifelong learner, she found great fulfillment in reading classic literature, biographies, philosophy, and works on politics. She also enjoyed the timeless comfort of classic films.
J.J.’s life was defined by her perseverance, intelligence, and boundless compassion. She touched countless lives, both inside and outside of her medical practice, and her impact will live on in the many people who were fortunate enough to know and be cared for by her.
