Early Morning Brush Fire Breaks Out On Trumbull Side Of Reservoir: Long Hill FD

A brush fire was reported on the Trumbull side of a reservoir near the Easton border, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

TRUMBULL, CT — An early morning brush fire was reported over the weekend on the Trumbull side of a reservoir near the Easton border, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Long Hill fire officials said Easton and Long Hill crews were called to investigate a possible fire Saturday around 5:30 a.m. in the Aquarion Water Company property along the Trumbull–Easton border.

When crews arrived in the area, they found an active brush fire on the Trumbull side of the reservoir, officials said.

Crews accessed the fire from Kachele Place, where they deployed and began fire suppression operations, officials said.

Firefighters from Trumbull and Easton worked for nearly three hours to confine and contain the blaze, preventing further spread through the watershed area, according to Long Hill fire officials.
